Yin Yoga
Yin Yoga
A quiet yoga of passive floor postures, each held slowly for several minutes.
History
Influenced by Paulie Zink's Taoist-informed teaching and developed into its current form by Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers, among others.
Philosophy
Drawing on yin and yang, it values receptivity and waiting, in contrast to active practice.
Physical character
Holding a pose for around 3–5 minutes gently works the joints and connective tissue.
